A method for marking the position of nichrome microelectrode tips in nervous tissue |

| Abstract: | A method for revealing nickel deposits from nichrome microelectrodes in the mammalian central nervous system is described. These deposits are stained red by dimethylglyoxime and can be observed directly or in Nissl stained sections. This method allows one to identify the exact position of a nichrome electrode in a microelectrode bundle chronically implanted in the brain. |
