Abstract: | The filamentous haemagglutinin of Bordetella pertussis has been purified from static, liquid culture supernatants and from extracts of cells grown on a solid medium. SDS-PAGE of the purified protein has shown multiple polypeptides with molecular weights ranging from 220 000 to about 58 000. By transferring the SDS-dissociated polypeptides to nitrocellulose paper and reacting with several monoclonal antibodies, it has been shown that many of the polypeptides are probably fragments of the polypeptide of highest molecular weight. |
