The Behavior of Lemur variegatus Kerr 1792

This paper reports the social behavior of two groups of captive Lemur variegates. An intensive three-month study provided baseline data. This was supplemented by two years of follow-up observations. Various components of the captive behavioral repertoire are described. Data on feeding behavior, vocalizations, grooming, agonistic interactions, sexual behavior and infant development were collected.
