| Abstract: | Oligomycin resistant yeast mutants induced by ultraviolet irradiation were also resistant to rutamycin and/or venturicidin. One of the two mutants analyzed in detail showed cytoplasmic inheritance of oligomycin and rutamycin resistance while in the other strain, inheritance of oligomycin and venturicidin resistance was Mendelian. Evidence suggesting localization of the cytoplasmic oligomycin and rutamycin resistance marker on mitochondrial DNA is presented. |
