| Abstract: | It is suggested that Laminaria setchellii Silva be retained as a species separate from L. dentigera Kjellman as there is no evidence suggesting they are conspecific. Further, L. saccharina (L.) Lamouroux and L. groenlandica Rosenvinge should also continue to be recognized as valid components of the California flora. |
