| Abstract: | Ten actinomycetes isolated from various marine sediments were investigated for the production of tetrodotoxin (TTX). Tissue culture assay, high performance liquid chromatography and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry confirmed that the nine strains produced TTX. Actinomycetes may be responsible for TTX accumulation in marine environments. |
