Abstract: | Strong piscivory by eels Anguilla anguilla , which were regularly stocked in the Bautzen Reservoir, Germany, as a biomanipulation tool, was observed, with the number of fishes per stomach containing fish being 2· 2 ± 1·3 (mean ± s . d .). The 0+ year perch Perca fluviatilis was the most frequent prey item (54%), and 0+ year pikeperch Sander lucioperca was the most important prey in terms of biomass (45%). |
