Six clones of D. salina were isolated from salt fields in Samut-Songkhram province. Clone DS91008 produced the highest carotenoid content of 80.3 pg cell-1, in modified J/1 medium at 30% NaCl under continuous illumination at 270 µmol m-2 s-1.
