| Abstract: | The alcohol dehydrogenase prepared from apple (Malus domesticaBorkh.) possesses both NADH and NADPH-linked activities, whenassayed with acetaldehyde as substrate. The pyridine nucleotidesbind to the same catalytic site on the enzyme. The alcohol dehydrogenasecan also catalyse the reduction of C3C6 aldehydes witheither NADH or NADPH as cofactor. |
