Abstract: | Sexual receptivity was significantly depressed in the estrogen/progesteroneprimed, Ovariectomized rat after the bilateral injection of 5, 10, or 20 μg of cycloheximide (CHX) into either the preoptic area (POA) or ventromedial hypothalamus (VMH) 6 hr before the initiation of the steroid priming. There was no differential response to CHX, an inhibitor of protein synthesis, relative to the locus of the placement of the drug in either the POA or VMH. |
