| Abstract: | Changes in the taxonomic composition of bivalves during the Phanerozoic are considered. Each period is characterized by a special set of taxa, in particular, families. Changes in taxonomic diversity, the episodes of maximum and minimum diversity are established and compared with those of other invertebrate groups. In general, the taxonomic diversity of bivalves gradually increased, except for a sharp decrease in the Early Triassic. |
