Mallomonas madagascariensis, M. lemuriocellata and M. crocodilorum are described and illustrated with TEM micrographs as the first results of studies of silica-scaled chrysophytes made in Madagascar. Their taxonomical position within the genus Mallomonas (sect. Torquatae , ser. Mangoferae ) is discussed and morphological distinguishing characters are presented. |
