Abstract: | Cercidiphyllum Sieb. & Zucc. comprises two very similar living species, Cercidiphyllum japonicum Sieb. & Zucc. and Cercidiphyllum magnificum (Nakai) Nakai, both commonly referred to as the katsura tree. The systematic placement and fossil history of Cercidiphyllum are described, and aspects of its cultivation and conservation are discussed. Cercidiphyllum magnificum is illustrated. |
