| Abstract: | When dl-1,2-propanediol is converted to propionaldehyde by dioldehydrase, an enzyme which requires B12-coenzyme, the product is unhydrated propionaldehyde. Its formation was demonstrated by measuring the rate of reduction of the enzymically formed aldehyde by NADH, catalyzed by yeast alcohol dehydrogenase. |
