Abstract:	Background The zinc uptake regulator Zur is a Zn²⁺-sensing metalloregulatory protein involved in the maintenance of bacterial zinc homeostasis. Up to now, regulation of zinc homeostasis by Zur is poorly understood in Y. pestis.
