| Abstract: | The QO2 of slices of Rumex virus tumors varies from 1.3 to 3.1; the R.Q. from 0.92 to 1.0.Pyruvate is utilized both in air and under nitrogen at about the same rate. Pyruvate stimulates CO2 evolution under N2, but fails to stimulate O2 uptake in air.Both alcohol and lactic acid are produced anaerobically. This production is increased by the addition of pyruvate but is not increased by the addition of glucose. |
