| Abstract: | A microwave oven technique for monitoring overwintering phytoseiid mite populations on dormant grapevines was developed. The removal and recovery of mites from grapevine wood material is based on excitation of mites in a microwave oven so that they fall to the bottom of a plastic bag. Contents of the bag are subsequently examined under a stereomicroscope. |
