Abstract:From the whole plant of Aconitum gymnandrum Maxim., four diterpene alkaloids have been isolated and identified: talatizamine, 14-acetyltalatizamine, condelphine and isotalatizidine. Thus the species nvestigated, belonging to the monotypic subgenus Gymnaconitum (Stapf) Rapaics, secms to be phytochemically closely related to A. nemorum M. Pop. and A. talassicum M. Pop. From the phytochemical point of view however, A. gymnandrum does not seem to be the most advanced species within the genus Aconitum.
