Abstract: | This paper reports a flow‐injection chemiluminescence method for the determination of ofloxacin (OFLX) using the Ru(bpy)2(CIP)2+–Ce(IV) system. Under the optimum conditions, the relative CL intensity was proportional to the concentration of OFLX in the range 3.0 × 10–8–1.0 × 10–5 mol/L and the detection limit was 4.2 × 10–9 mol/L. The proposed method has been successfully applied to the determination of ofloxacin in pharmaceuticals and human urine. The chemiluminescence mechanism of the system is also discussed.
