| Abstract: | According to the paleontological (molluscs and ostracods) and stratigraphical data, the Congeria rhodanicacclays are of Upper Messinian age. This oligohaline facies points out the local transgression of mediterranean origin in the Rhone basin, following a Lower Messinian erosive episode with coarse subaerial partial valley infill. |
