Abstract:A high-performance liquid chromatographic (HPLC) assay for the determination of the R- and S-enantiomers of ketoprofen is described. Facile ketoprofen extraction from plasma and derivatization to the diastereomeric S-1-phenylethylamides was followed by normal-phase HPLC. The ketoprofen diastereomeric amides eluted within 8 min. The limit of quantification of the assay was 0.15 mg/l of each enantiomer (signal-to-noise RATIO = 5).
