Abstract: | Uromyces appendiculatus germlings attached to a plastic surface and differentiating in response to contact with inductive ridges formed appressoria most efficiently in the pH range 5.5–6.5. Formation of appressoria was inhibited by increased concentrations of Ca2+ and K+. |
