InEscherichia coli, isocitrate dehydrogenase may undergo an acetate-induced inactivation. The degree to which the enzyme is inactivated depends upon the strain of organism employed, the culture medium in which the cells are grown, and the concentration of inorganic phosphate in the medium employed to induced the in vivo inactivation.
