| Abstract: | Advantages of Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy using reflexion techniques are used for skin analyses. Several examples of spectra obtained with a skin analyser are given and the major absorptions in the range 3,500 to 1,150 cm-1 are assigned to fundamental vibrations. Some of them can be used to determine the hydratation level of the skin. |
