Abstract:Summary Decalcified chicken egg shell membrane is a suitable physical substrate for the growth of monolayers of an epithelial line of tissue culture cells, MDCK. The shell membranes with their adherent sheets of cells are easily prepared for cross-section study of monolayer growth with electron microscopy. This study was supported by Research Grant P-442 from the American Cancer Society.
