Abstract: | The cultivated and indigenous taxa of Sterculiaceae in Egypt are systematically revised. This revealed the presence of 15 species, belonging to 10 genera, accepted as cultivated taxa and 6 indigenous species, belonging to 4 genera, restricted to the southeastern corner of Egypt; of which Melhania steudneri Schweinf. is a new record to the flora of Egypt. For the investigated taxa valid name, synonyms, types, general distribution and representative specimens are given.
