| Abstract: | The sulfate-reducing bacteriumDesulfosarcina variabilis VKM B-1694 was found to produce up to 1.62 Ώmol methane per mg protein when grown on different substrates. The role of methanogenesis and the physicochemical factors determining this process in sulfate-reducing bacteria are discussed. |
