Abstract: | The effect of Mg2+ on glucuronan O -acetylation and production by the Rhizobium meliloti M5N1 CS strain was studied. Magnesium ion induced the production of a more acetylated exopolysaccharide containing a greater molar ratio of 2,3-di- O -acetyl residues. |
