| Abstract: | Insulin resistance, the hallmark of non-insulin dependent diabetes mellitus, is characterized by the failure of tissues to take up and store glucose in response to insulin. Two recent studies shed new light on the importance of insulin signalling in the liver and how this may become defective in diabetes. |
