Abstract: | A technique is described by which root parasites such as Striga and Orobanche species may be grown on the roots of suitable host plants growing on a layer of glass-fibre filter paper in a flattened, standard polyethylene bag. The single-bag units are compact, inexpensive, simple to set up and allow repeated observation without damage. Some other potential uses of the technique are described. |
