Abstract: | The passing of Jack Heslop-Harrison marks the end of an outstandinginternational scientific career and represents the loss of adistinguished contemporary British botanist. British by birthand by acclaim in that he held Fellowships of the Royal Societyand the Royal Society of Edinburgh, together with Membershipof the Royal Irish Academy.
