Abstract:If the hominids are of African origin, as data support, we can hypothesize that the date of the first population diffusion must be moved back to 2.5–2.6 mya, and that the first populations in central China were oriented toward new technological options, which are only found in Africa much later. In the present state of research, it appears that we should abandon our old paradigms, which have over time become “truths”, because instead of a unifying view–monolithic–of these periods, we advocate recognition of the existence of spatial and temporal cultural otherness.
