| Abstract: | Summary A new buffer system is described for use in histochemical staining with basic dyes. The buffer is made up by mixing solutions of formic acid and sodium acetate. Tables giving the proportions for closely-spaced pH values in the range 3.0–5.6 are presented. A table for an acid phosphate series down to a pH of 2.0 is also included. The value of these buffer mixtures in histological as well as histochemical staining with basic dyes is stressed.With 1 Figure in the Text |
