Kältegefuhl in einem Fichtenwald

Based on the equation of a dampness index by Piggott the mean monthly diurnal variation of the cold feeling of man was computed from the meteorological data for the year 1972 measured in the course of the IHD and the IB P 2 m above the ground in a spruce forest near Munich, Germany. At no time the conditions in the forest fell within the range of cold. Piggott's classification of dampness and index are described in detail. Regressions of the index with windchill, equivalent temperature and mean hourly energy consumption of man are of general validity as they largely depend on ambient temperature. Correlations with other measurements such as RFH and vapor pressure are only valid for certain climates.
