| Abstract: | Background Chow and Liu showed that the maximum likelihood tree for multivariate discrete distributions may be found using a maximum
weight spanning tree algorithm, for example Kruskal's algorithm. The efficiency of the algorithm makes it tractable for high-dimensional
problems. |
