| Abstract: | Isolated fat cells from rats which have been made hypothyroid do not give a lipolytic response to catecholamines. A recent report has suggested that catecholamine-sensitive lipolysis may be correlated with an “unmasking” of receptors by linoleic acid rich phospholipids in the fat cell membrane. No apparent differences in phospholipid fatty acid composition could be found in membrane “ghosts” prepared from normal and hypothyroid rats. |
