Abstract:The preservation efficiency of eight brands of antacid suspensions currently marketed in Jordan was tested against Pseudomonas aeruginosa (ATCC 9027). Results shown indicate that the preservation equilibria of these preparations have drastically changed with repeated challenges from microbicidal to microbiostatic and then to absence of preservation.
