Abstract: | Summary Iron competitively inhibited Zn absorption by rice (Oryza sativa L. cv. Earlirose) grown in solution culture. The effect was more marked for shoots since Fe had also a competitive effect on Zn translocation from roots to shoots. The chelating agent baptholphenanthrolinesulfonate (BPDS), which has great ability to chelate Fe++, alleviated the inhibitory effect of Fe to a large extent. re]19750516 |
