Abstract: | The amyR3, amyS, papS1, tmr, and papM118 mutations each stimulate alpha-amylase production two- to sevenfold above the level in a wild-type strain of Bacillus subtilis. A strain which presumably has all five of these mutations produced 250-fold more alpha-amylase. |
