The production and germination of resting spores of Entomophthora virulenta (Entomophthorales: Entomophthoraceae)

The resting spores of Entomophthora virulenta were readily mass-produced on coagulated egg yolk supplemented with Sabouraud dextrose. A significantly higher number of the spores germinated under 16 hr/day of 914 and 2260 lx than in darkness. Similarly, treatment with 1 or 2% glusulase significantly increased the germination of the test spores.
