Effect of pH and preparation method on thermal denaturation of thymus DNA in salt-free solutions]

Abstract:Thermal denaturation of calf thymus DNA was studied by scanning microcalorimetry. It has been shown that long dialysis of DNA against water causes a sharp decrease of DNA thermal stability due to biopolymer protonation. The literature data on the properties of DNA salt-free solutions obtained by dialysis are discussed.
