| Abstract: | The elastase inhibitory capacity of human plasma α1-antitrypsin was determined following chemical modification of lysyl and arginyl residues. Modification of the guanidino group had no effect upon the inhibitory activity, while acetylation, citraconylation, and trinitrophenylation of the lysyl ?-amino group brought about a loss of elastase inhibitory capacity. |
