Abstract: | Cluster analysis of the following parameters was performed in 13 cosmonauts: the duration (min), amount (m), and speed (km/h)
of physical locomotor exercise (PLE) including running, and total locomotion (running + walking). These activities were the
part of the program of long-term missions on board the International Space Station. The cosmonauts were divided into three
groups, which included two, five, and six subjects, respectively. The parameters of the PLE amount and speed significantly
increased (p < 0.03) when going from the first to the third group. There was no significant difference in the duration of PLE between
the groups (p < 0.125). It is concluded that cluster analysis is an appropriate method for fitness evaluation of cosmonauts during long-term
space flights. |
