Oxidation of indole and its derivatives by heme-independent chloroperoxidases]

Abstract:Indole, indolylacetic acid, and tryptophan were oxidized by cloroperoxidases isolated from strains of Streptomyces lividans and Pseudomonas pyrrocinia. Indigo (indoxyl), isatin, and anthranilic acid (intermediate products of oxidative degradation of indole and indole derivatives) were extracted from the reaction medium.
