Abstract:Fifty-four loricated euglenophyta taxa sampled in the province of Chaco, Argentina, belonging to the genus Trachelomonas Ehr., have been examined by means of scanning electron microscopy. On the basis of these observations three new varieties are proposed: T. oviformis van duplex, T. robusta var. sparsiornata and T. Sydneyensis var. acuminata. Several details of the lorica ultrastructure are illustrated.
