Abstract: | Using novel fluorescent markers, virus-induced modulation of amphiphysin 1 expression, and electron microscopy, we demonstrated that clathrin-mediated endocytosis is the main mechanism of synaptic vesicle retrieval; a hypothesis on the role of a fast “kiss-and-run” mechanism has not been supported.
