Abstract: | We have investigated qualitative and quantitative changes which occur with development and disease progression in nonspecific esterases of livers and kidneys of ducky mice. Total activity in both organs is reduced compared with normal mice, and permanent and temporary deletions of isozyme bands occur. The isozyme profile depends upon the stage of the disease.Supported in part by NIH Research Grant NB 06448 from the National Institutes of Neurological Diseases and Stroke, and grants from the National Foundation for Neuromuscular Diseases, Inc., the Southwaite Foundation, and the United Health Services of North Carolina.Visiting Scientist, The Jackson Laboratory, Bar Harbor, Maine.
