Abstract: | A new method is proposed to derive ion distributions and the electric potential near charged surfaces. The diffuse double layer is described by a proposed thermodynamic equilibrium condition between electrostatic forces and osmotic pressure. Problems related with the osmotic pressure and the integration of Coulomb forces are investigated in this paper. A numeric example is given based on erythrocyte data. |
