Abstract:Critical analyses of current pest control practices and the role of classical biological control are needed. The costs and benefits of the introduction and release of natural enemies of the cassava mealybug are assessed. A conservative estimate shows that the benefit to cost ratio of this project is extremely high (149∶1).
