Vascular transfer cells in leaves of Leguminosae-Papilionoideae |

| Abstract: | A survey of A-type transfer cells in leaves of 118 species representing 87 genera and 3 5 tribes of Leguminosae-Papilionoideae suggests that their presence or absence is taxonomically predictable both at tribal level and in terms of major series of tribes. Members of 'pulvinate' (tropical) tribes generally lack transfer cells, while 'epulvinate' (temperate) forms commonly possess them. |
